Replacing VX805 with new P400 VeriFone Device
Inside your package you should receive the P400 VeriFone device and the 1st cable that attaches to theP400 VeriFone device. Make note, this is the same exact cable currently connected to the VX805 so if you wish to reuse the same cable, that is an option but requires a small screwdriver to remove the cable from the back of the VX805. The below instructions are developed with the mindset that you will be replacing this cable with the new one that was delivered with the new device.
Please do not misplace the individual box that the new P400 VeriFone device comes in. The mac addressneeded to pair the device to its POS terminal is no longer on the back of the device. The Mac address willbe located on the individual box that device comes in. The proper procedure during installation would be to leave each individual P400 VeriFone box at that the location it will be installed. If the box is lost, the Pizza Hut Service Desk (800-835-3379) will be able to see the device hitting the network to get the mac address if needed.
The label on the box that the device is in is pictured below. There are a few different mac addresses but the correct one to look for is titled “10/100 MAC:” See below:
Installation instructions:
Its recommended to only install one device at a time and complete the process in its entirety before moving on to a 2nd device. This will prevent multiple mac addresses from appearing during the pairing process that could cause some confusion.
From your old VX805 Pin-pad, follow the cable that comes out of the pin-pad until you locate the breakaway joint. See breakaway joint in picture below:
Disconnect this cable at this breakaway joint and remove the VX-805 pin-pad and its attached cable thatyou just unplugged. Leaving the other half of the breakaway cable in its place.
Install the new cable that came with your new P400 Verifone by connecting it to this breakaway joint. Connectthe opposite end of your new cable to the new P400 device.
The new P400 VeriFone device will power on and it will take 2-3 minutes to load to a pizza hut logo screenshown below: Please be patient and allow the device to get to this logo screen before continuing:
At the location that device is being installed at, log into administration screen and select the option for “PinPad Setup” and press enter. Below its option 26. If using eRes system, to get to the Pin-Pad Setup screen you have to go to Management Menu > SUS Administration > System Tools > Pin-Pad Setup.
First question below you should answer y and press enter.
2nd question you will answer n and press enter because you are not repairing a device. You are installing a new device.
The next screen should display your mac address. You can compare it to the mac address that was previously identified on the box that the device came in. Select the line # that matches your mac address. In our example below, the line number is 1. If your mac address does not appear, you can select the manual option and type in the mac address that is displayed on the box that the device came in. Mac address would be entered with numbers and letters only.
IMPORTANT STEP
The following screen will now appear on your POS terminal and its very important to not get ahead of your self on this step. DO NOT PRESS ENTER on the keyboard at this time.
When you get to this step as shown in the picture above, you need to reboot the new P400 Pin-Pad. To do this, you will need to press and hold the RED button on the pin- pad until the device turns off. Once off, wait 10 seconds and then press and hold the GREEN button to turn the device on. You will now need to wait 2-3 minutes again for the device to load up to the Pizza Hut logo screen. Once the device has rebooted and is only displaying the Pizza Hut logo screen, you can proceed by pressing enter on the keyboard attached to the POS terminal. If you press enter too early on the keyboard during this process, the pairing process may need to be restarted.
The POS terminal will display the screen you see below prompting you to enter the 4- digit code of 1234 on the Pin-Pad.
Watch your new P400 Pin-Pad and wait for it to prompt you to enter this code. It may take 30 seconds before it asks for a code. See below: Once you get this prompt, on the keypad of the P400 device select 1 2 3 4 and then press the green button
If the code of 1234 was entered correctly followed by pressing the green button, the device will say PINMATCH and have you reenter this code for a total of 3 times. Each time you will need to wait for the pin pad to prompt you before entering the code.
After entering code 3 times successfully, the POS terminal will display the below message indicating that thedevice was paired successfully. You may press enter and exit out of the administration screen.
After a successful registration of a device, its recommended to run a start of day from the managers Back of House computer. Your device should now be all set and ready for use. If the device does not accept credit cards right away. Wait 10 minutes to try again because sometimes there is a small delay for the device toregister above store.
If you get any type of failure message that the device did not pair successfully, please check all connections on the terminal and pin pad and try the process over from the start. If you are still having issues, please contact the Pizza Hut Service Desk (800- 835-3379) and they will assist you with the process.
